Leslie Jordan agreed right as we launched the Del Shores Foundation to serve as Co-Chair of our Honorary Board.  He told Del, "oh honey, of course! You just have to remind me when I'm supposed to do something!"  And of course he did.  He returned to our pandemic livestream fundraiser reading of Sordid Lives where we raised over $75,000 for 23 nonprofit theatre partners who were shut down.  He returned again for our Southern Baptist Sissies reunion fundraiser as well!

The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce said it was the highest attendance at a Walk of the Stars dedication ceremony ever! Nona Watson spoke on behalf of the Chamber and city council member Lisa Middleton read the proclamation announcing "Leslie Jordan Day." Leslie's sister, Cricket Jordan, accepted on behalf of the family.  Del and Emerson hosted, with hilarious and touching stories from Rosemary Alexander, Newell Alexander, Ann Walker, Dale Dickey, Cheyenne Jackson and Bart Stevens with a special message in song from Danny Myrick and Megan Linville.

We surpassed the fundraising goal for the cost of the star, so the surplus funds will be used this year to make our Playwriting Grant "in honor of Leslie Jordan."
